The Place captures the essence of authentic Italian dining, offering a menu bursting with flavor and flair. Reviewers rave about the polenta fries and the unique Mikey’s Big Balls, which stand out as must-tries. The cramped yet cozy atmosphere only adds to the character of this spot, where live music enhances the dining experience—a gentleman serenades diners with classic Italian melodies that evoke a true sense of la dolce vita.
Among the dishes celebrated for their artistry and flavor, the Wild Mushroom Black Truffle Risotto has left a lasting impression on many diners, while the Cheese Ravioli e pomadoro offers a delightful taste of comfort. One cannot overlook the Braised Beef in Polenta, which has been described as tender and flavorful, pairing beautifully with the creamy polenta.

Fresh lime, raspberry. Tart and refreshing!
Blueberry, raspberry bubbles.
Blueberries & hand squeezed lemonade.
1 scoop of deliciousness.
Our focaccia is housemade fresh daily. Served with house "Olio" with EVOO, fresh garlic, fresh herbs and imported modena balsamic vinegar. First one is complementary with an entree.
Amazing Italian cuisine! Fabulous service! Great live singing, that just makes the atmosphere incredible! It has become mine, and my lady's FAVORITE PLACE! Since everything is so good, I personally will be making my way through every dish on the dinner menu!
Had a wonderful dinner at The Place. You definitely need reservations if you plan on going on a Friday or Saturday evening. The place was packed. They had a gentleman playing music and singing Italian songs. And the food and service was excellent. I highly recommend the polenta fries and Mikey’s Big Balls are good too.
My daughter and her mother brought me here for Father's Day dinner. It is a great place, small, so make sure to make reservations ahead of time. Though it did take a while to get seated and get drinks, I'd say overall a great recommendation for Italian food. My daughter had the Cheese Ravioli e pomadoro, can't go wrong with Ravioli with delectable, her mother had the Braised Beef in Polenta that was to die for as that beef was so tender and it paired very well with the polenta, and I had the Wild Mushroom Black Truffle Risotto that was so amazingly delicious, I left that plate trembling
Authentic Italian food and a great selection. The staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. Appetizers are a much. Portion size are perfect. Make sure you come hungry. Prices are reasonable . Will be coming back for dinner again.
Our first visit to this establishment today was a very enjoyable experience. All the food here is cooked from scratch and you can tell from the look, smell and deliciously prepared lunch we had. Chef Rusty prepared our meal. His attention to detail and the love he puts into his creations were phenomenal both in presentation and taste! Our server Lene' was so helpful in suggestions and knowledge about the offerings on the menu. She truly is a professional in her attentiveness and courteous attitude making for a great experience. We had pizza and calzone that was so delicious and large making me happy to take some home for another great meal. They offer so much on the menu we are looking forward to our next visit which will be on a Friday night since they create a 10 layer lasagne which my friends say will not disappoint and the best they've ever tried. One of their "Claim to fame" They also have a nice wine list with many varieties and a bar with character. The atmosphere here is cozy with Sinatra & The Rat Pack music playing in the background adding to the charm and uniqueness to this establishment. This definitely was a location we will now frequent hoping to try all items off the menu. This is a newly (to us) found gem right in the middle of Roseville.
The food was great and well presented. The roast was tender and the Yorkshire pudding was delicious. Pasta was Al Dente and the sauces were all well done. We enjoyed Italian soda with cream and Irish Coffee. The atmosphere was nice and the staff friendly. Clean restrooms. Restaurant is smaller but has character. The lasagna was good but could use more filling between the many layers. The smoky Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. It may be too smoky for others however. Salad was fresh. Oil blend was light and refreshing but the bread could have been fresher. Specifically hot out of the oven like other Italian restaurants. This is not our first time here and we will also likely go back.
The Real Deal is The Place, top to bottom a solid Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was a true Italian setting with an inside and outside feel all inside of a one indoor space. The service was pretty good, keeping drinks full slowed towards the end of meal service. Now onto the main event, The Food, started with the Brushette that was well-rounded with fresh mozzarella cheese only needed a bit more of the tomato blend on top 8 out 10. I had a Chicken Marsala with homemade noddles which was amazing 9 out 10 only reason it wasn’t a 10/10 was I wish for a bit more of the amazing flavoring/zest on the chicken. Another dished sampled was Clams e Linguine with prawns 10/10 best clams linguine I have ever tasted, amazing flavor and fresh ingredients. Each meal served with delicious bread and oils. Must try!!!
Great fettuccini Alfredo. Small place that's been there for years. Make a reservation, it fills up quick.
